David Sherwin thought it would be easy to get public officials in Collier and Lee counties to check and see if they are being stolen from.
In those two counties alone, the Fort Myers resident and Office Depot whistle-blower believes taxpayers have been overcharged by the Boca Raton-based company more than $2 million so far.
